Accepting 2009 residents! Nevada law has restricted health system, from actually employing docs, so the practice model has had to be modified. Due to community growth and a primary care shortage, Northern Nevada Medical Center is opening several new family practice offices around the city. The candidate would have the option of either an outpatient-only practice (hospitalists are available for inpatient coverage) or a traditional practice. The hospital will staff the practices and cover overhead costs, and will offer a guaranteed salary for the physicians for the first year. They are at times fairly selective about training backgrounds. The physicians would be independent contractors, rather than employees. An additional monthly stipend will also be available to physicians who supervise a midlevel provider. Call coverage will be available, however, exact schedule not yet set.

Sparks, NV is located adjacent to Reno. It's a scenic area and it's only 45 minutes from Lake Tahoe and a couple of hours from Sacramento, CA.
